Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression in the Workplace: Understanding the law and creating meaningful policies and practices"

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Please join FordHarrison attorneys Nancy Holt and Allyn Lowell for a complimentary webinar on sexual orientation and gender identity issues in the workplace.

In its Strategic Enforcement Plan, the EEOC has identified coverage of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals under Title VII's sex discrimination provisions as one of its six national priorities.  In furtherance of its commitment to this issue, in March 2016, the EEOC brought its first sex discrimination cases based on sexual orientation. LGBT issues continue to be at the forefront of popular culture discussions with the gay marriage debate, the introduction of Caitlyn Jenner and television shows such as Transparent and Orange is the New Black.  The issues surrounding sexual orientation and gender identity that employers face today go far beyond the "which bathroom" discussion of old.  This webinar will discuss and explain the cultural landscape and legal developments surrounding LGBT issues in the workplace and further discuss employer best practices on this developing legal issue.

FordHarrison is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CPSM or SHRM-SCPSM. This course is approved for 1 hour of PDCs.  This program is also pre-approved by HRCI for 1 hour of PHR, GPHR, and SPHR recertification credit.
